FRUITPORT — Fruitport’s baseball team won a pitcher’s duel, 2-0, in the first game of an an O-K Blue doubleheader at Fruirport on Tuesday afternoon.

Unity Christian came back to take the nightcap, 6-5.

Cody Matuz was the winning pitcher, going 6 2/3 innings allowing only two hits and striking out 10 batters.

The Trojans scored two runs in the third when Hayden Harper led off with a single followed by Braxton Wards single.

Gavin Reames came up with an RBI single and then Ryan Bosch drew a bases loaded walk.

Reames suffered the loss in the second game. He allowed four earned runs in four innings. Brady Weck pitched in relief and threw three scoreless innings.

Mayson Whitlow had an RBI double, Aiden Vela and Andrew Spyke also had RBI hits.
