MONTAGUE –The Orchard View girls soccer team took down Montague by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday evening in the district opener.

Nazalia Mendiola netted the Cardinals’ first three goals to help build the lead. Aleya Jones added the cherry on top as she launched a 30-yard bomb into the net for the final score.

Cassidy Nordhoek, Emma Peklar, Tania Furlough and Maddy Pastor each contributed an assist on the night.

Orchard View (11-6, 4-4) will advance to the next round for more district action. The Cardinals will square off with the Shelby Tigers next Wednesday.

Montague closes out the season with a winning record at 10-7 and 6-2 in the Western Michigan Conference.
