Mona Shores vs. Grand Haven

GRAND HAVEN –The Mona Shores girls soccer team snapped their three-game losing streak with a win against Grand Haven on Friday night.

The Sailors got by the Bucs by a score of 4-1.

Leading the way for the Sailors was Shay Norden, who earned a hat trick on the night. Lilly Houle also chipped in a goal.

Assists for the scores came from Mia Brown and Addison Fisher who made two each.

Maya Cooper, Molly Wolf, Lydia Sowles and Ali Trautner helped keep the pace with strong midfield play.

Mona Shores (10-4-2, 6-0-1) is set to open up the OK Conference-Green Tournament on Tuesday at home against Wyoming.

Grand Haven (2-12-1, 2-8-1) will travel to face the Montague Wildcats on Monday.

Mason County Central vs. Manistee

SCOTTVILLE –The Mason County Central girls soccer team drew a blank on Friday evening against Manistee in non-conference play.

The Spartans were shut out by a score of 3-0.

Adria Quigley, Bronwyn Stevens and Mya Sterley each put shots on the net but couldn’t manage to sneak one by.

Goalkeeper Gabby Jensen was busy with 14 saves on the night.

Mason County Central (0-12, 0-7) will take a trip to Kingsley on Monday.

Fremont vs. Ravenna

FREMONT –The Fremont girls soccer team routed the Ravenna Bulldogs on Friday evening by a score of 6-0.

The Packers took an early lead and controlled the game from there.

Riley Chase led the scoring effort with four goals. Also, Mia Clemens and Mia Witte each added a goal.

Lili Isak contributed two assists, while Jessie Petry, Clemens and Witte each had one assist.

The Packers outshot the Bulldogs 17-5.

Fremont’s Macey Powers posted the shutout with five saves in the net.

Goalkeeper Sidney Marsman made 11 saves for the Bulldogs.

Fremont (9-6, 5-3) will host Reed City on Monday in the first round of the CSAA Conference Tournament.

Ravenna (7-5-1, 3-4) is set to play host to Covenant Christian on Tuesday.

Western Michigan Christian vs. Covenant Christian

GRAND RAPIDS –The Western Michigan Christian girls soccer team fell short to Grand Rapids Covenant Christian by a score of 2-1 on Friday evening.

The action was tied 1-1 with 30 minutes left to play. Unfortunately, a lapse in the Warriors’ defense would allow the Chargers to score the go-ahead goal.

Ally Oppenhuizen scored her sixth goal of the season with the Warriors’ lone goal.

Goalkeeper Libby Mast stopped 11 shots on the night.

WMC (6-6-4, 5-0-2) will be at home on Monday for Lakes 8 Activities Conference play against Orchard View.
