ST.CLAIR–The Muskegon Community College Golf Team finished in 3rd place at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XII Tournament on Tuesday afternoon and qualified for the NJCAA National Championship in Joplin, MO starting on May 17.

MCC shot a final round of 325 on Tuesday at St. Clair Golf Club in St. Clair.

Zach Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) and Tai Chamberlain (Grand Haven) led the team, shooting 78. Steve Cullen (Whitehall) shot 83, Andrew Taylor (Mona Shores) shot 86 and Cody Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) shot 88.

Zach Petrtoski, Chamberlain and Cullen were all named to the NJCAA All-Region XII Team.

Monday afternoon the Jayhawks finished day one of the NJCAA Region XII Tournament in 2nd place with a team score of 639.

They trailed Oakland Community College by 8 strokes going into the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Scoring for the Jayhawks were: Zach Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) 76, 79; Steve Cullen (Whitehall) 83, 74; Tai Chamberlain (Grand Haven) 82, 80; Andrew Taylor (Mona Shores) 82, 88 and Cody Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) 88, 83
