Smith and Hanson-Wilbur lead Fruitport past Coopersville 8-1 in Monday soccer action

FRUITPORT –The Fruitport girls soccer team closed out the OK Conference-Blue Tournament with a bang on Monday evening.

The Trojans routed Coopersville by a score of 8-1.

Mallory Smith and Alexa Hanson-Wilburn led the attack with three goals a piece. Also, Emmerson VerMerris and Anna Bol got in on the scoring with a goal each.

Goalkeeper Riley Kettel made nine saves in the net.

Fruitport (10-8-3, 2-6-2) hopes to carry the momentum into the district opener against Ludington on Wednesday.
