STANTON — Muskegon Catholic Central’s baseball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from Central Montcalm, 7-3 and 5-1 on the road Tuesday afternoon.

Sam Convertini took the bump in the first game for the Crusaders and chalked up the win, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out 11 over six innings.

Jacob Lyonnais came in from the bullpen to pitch the final inning.

Convertini also led the Crusaders at the plate with three hits, followed by Lyonnais with two and Bryan Convertini with one hit and two runs batted in.

The Crusaders threw freshman Vince Szymanski in the nightcap and he went the distance, scattering five hits and one unearned run while striking out five.

Sam Convertini and Braden Gustin each collected two RBI to lead the Crusaders’ offense in the second game.

Catholic Central improved to 6-6 on the season.
