NORTON SHORES –The Western Michigan Christian girls soccer team claimed the Lakes 8 Activities Conference title outright for the last time in the conference’s existence on Monday evening.

The Warriors downed Orchard View by a score of 3-0.

Two penalties in the box helped increase the Warriors’ lead with a pair of penalty kick goals on the night.

Brooklyn Watts, Nadia Burr and Sydney Betten each scored a goal.

Western Michigan Christian (7-6-4, 6-0-2) will travel to Whitehall on Wednesday in non-conference action.

Orchard View (8-6, 3-4) will continue conference play on Wednesday when they face Muskegon Catholic Central.

Spring Lake vs. Fruitport Girls Soccer

SPRING LAKE –The Spring Lake girls soccer team shutdown their rival, Fruitport, in OK Conference-Blue action on Monday evening.

The Lakers routed the Trojans by a score of 8-1.

Meah Bajt had a busy day on the attack as she scored half the team’s goals with four.

Clara Saunders netted a pair of goals, while Ella Andree and Phoebe Ryan each added a single score.

Eryn Bouwhuis and Emma Nicles held the defensive line for the Lakers.

Spring Lake (13-1-1, 7-1) is set to play host to Grand Rapids West Catholic on Wednesday for league play.

Fruitport (9-7-3, 1-5-2) will also continue conference play on Wednesday. The Trojans will travel to Hamilton to face the Hawkeyes.

Mona Shores Girls Soccer

NORTON SHORES –The Mona Shores girls soccer team breezed through the opening round of the OK Conference-Green Tournament with an 11-0 rout against Wyoming on Tuesday evening.

Multiple Sailors earned a score in the balanced attack.

Mia Brown led the way with a hat trick, while Shay Norden followed with a pair of goals. Jenna Baker, Ali Phillips, Lydia Sowles and Sophia Fisher also each added a goal.

Goalkeeper Ella Buikema posted the shutout for the Sailors.

Mona Shores (11-4-2, 7-0-1) will host rival Reeths-Puffer on Thursday for the semi-final round of the conference tournament.
