Whitehall vs. Shelby Girls Soccer

SHELBY –The Whitehall girls soccer team notched a 7-2 win over Shelby on Wednesday evening in Western Michigan Conference play.

The Vikings rode to victory on the back of Maggie Evans’ impressive seven goal performance, five of which were netted in the first half.

For the Tigers, Haydee Pedroza nabbed a goal off of an assist from Hannah Frees, while Kendall Zaverl found the net off of an assist from Emma Soelberg.

Whitehall (4-5, 4-1) will be at home on Thursday against Oakridge.

Shelby (3-10-2, 2-4-1) will play at home on Thursday where they will face North Muskegon.

Ludington vs. Muskegon Catholic Central Girls Soccer

LUDINGTON –The Ludington girls soccer team tallied another Lakes 8 Activities Conference win with a 3-0 shutout against Muskegon Catholic Central on Wednesday.

The Orioles’ Madison Gasaway, Abi Bandstra and Elianna Jeruzal each found the net for a score on the night. Madeline Billings supported with all three assists.

Goalkeeper Anyssa Castaneda had seven saves for the Orioles.

Ludington (8-4, 4-1) will travel to Petoskey on Saturday for the Northmen Invitational.

Muskegon Catholic Central (4-4-2, 1-3-1) will visit Kentwood Grand River Prep on Friday.

Orchard View vs. Muskegon Girls Soccer

MUSKEGON –The Orchard View girls soccer team took the short stroll to face-off with the Muskegon Big Reds on Wednesday evening.

The Cardinals dominated the night with an 8-0 rout over Muskegon.

Out in front for the Cardinals was Kyah McGruther and Nazalia Mendiola with two goals each. Kylee Carmean, Aleya Jones and Aubrien Coleman each added a goal a piece, while Cassidy Noordhoek made two assists and netted a score.

Tania Furlough chipped in an assist for the Cardinals.

Orchard View (7-3, 2-2) will play host to Grand Rapids West Michigan Aviation Academy on Friday.

Muskegon (0-8) is set to travel to Grand Rapids for a battle with Northview on Monday.

Western Michigan Christian vs. Manistee Girls Soccer

NORTON SHORES –The Western Michigan Christian girls soccer team came to play on Wednesday evening as they ran past Manistee by a score of 5-0 in Lakes 8 Activities Conference action.

The Warriors managed to find scoring opportunities early and completely dominated the first half. The second half saw a revitalized Manistee squad but it wasn’t enough to outdo the Warriors.

The Warriors leading scorer earned a hat trick and climbs to seven goals and three assists on the season. Also, Brooklyn Watts tallied two scores, while Ally Oppenhuizen threw in an assist.

Goalkeeper Libby Mast posted her seventh shutout of the season in the net.

Western Michigan Christian (5-4-3, 4-0-1) will host Wheaton Academy (Chicago, IL) on Friday.
