SCOTTVILLE — Hart’s girls softball team defeated Manistee, 15-4 to win the MHSAA Division 2 district championship played at Mason County Central on Saturday.
Finley Kistler was in the pitcher’s circle for the Pirates and threw five strong innings, walking only two and striking out five in picking up the win.
Skylar Smith drove in four runs to be the big run producer on offense, while Abby Hicks and Gabby Schmieding each collected two RBI. All of them knocked out three hits apiece.
Morgan Marvin and Kelsey Copenhaver contributed two hits apiece for the Pirates, while Makayla Rockwell, Audry Swihart and Kloe Klotz each added a hit.
The Pirates next travel to Clare for the regional tournament where they’ll play Evart in the semifinals.
