MONTAGUE –The Orchard View girls soccer team shut down the Shelby Tigers by a score of 2-0 in the Division 3 district semi-finals on Wednesday night.

The Cardinals posted two unanswered goals in the first half and never looked back.

Aleya Jones and Nazalia Mendiola put the Cardinals on the board with a goal a piece. Kylee Carmean recorded an assist.

Skyler Rowell, Brooklyn Gould, Tania Furlough and Nari Watson played stout defense to get the shutout.

Orchard View (12-6) is set to face Newaygo in the district finals on Friday at Montague.

Shelby closes out the year with a record of 5-15-2.
