ROCKFORD—Mona Shores senior Demitri Roberson took top honors in the boys long jump in the Division 1 state track meet.

His winning distance was 23-6.75

The meet was Saturday at Rockford.

Grand Haven sophomore Seth Norder placed second in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:07.99. Not far behind Norder was senior Klay Grant from Reeths-Puffer who came in with a time of 4:11.10 good for a fifth-place finish.

Grand Haven senior Ashton Lepo took second place in the discus with a toss of 159.00. Lepo also placed 11th in the shot put with a throw of 47-01.50.

Detroit U-D Jesuit won the boy’s overall competition with 41 points. It was followed by Farmington with 31 points and Clinton Township Chippewa Valley came in third with 29 points.

Locally, Grand Haven finished in seventh place (21). They were followed by Mona Shores at the 25th spot with 10 points and Reeths-Puffer came in 42nd with 4 points.

Boys individual results

3,200 Meters – 4, Nolan Clark (Jr.) – Grand Haven – 9:08.74

4 x 100 Relay – 16, Muskegon (Wanyai Johnson, Destin Piggee, Jakob Price and CJ Ivy III), 43.30

4 x 800 Relay – 11,  Grand Haven (Nolan Clark, Logan Vining, Ben Held and Seth Norder), 7:57.77

In the girls finals, Grand Haven freshman Valerie Beeck placed fifth in the 800 meters  with a time of 2:14.15. Mona Shores senior Anabeth Hylland placed eighth in the 100 meters at 12.59

Detroit Renaissance won the team with 80 points, followed by Oak Park with 60 and Ann Arbor Huron with 55.

Grand Haven finished with 4 points on the day while Mona Shores had 1 point.
