GRAND RAPIDS—The Mona Shores girls softball team swept Northview on the road in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon
The Sailors came out swinging in game one with a team total of 18 hits in the opener.
Seven players had multiple hits while Abbie Critchett led the team offensively with 3 hits and 2 stolen bases.
Elizabeth Savacool and Brooklyn Graham also had 3 hits each. Kristen Hylland picked up the win on the mound, allowing 6 hits and striking out 3.
In the nightcap Macey Spaniola tossed a 2-hit shutout, striking out 5 in 5 innings of work for the Sailors.
Mona Shores put up five runs in the third inning as Hannah Geoghan, Mia Geoghan, Amilia Pena and Spaniola each had RBIs in the inning.
The team racked up 11 hits total, with Abbie Critchett, Mia Geoghan and Maggie McCarthy contributing multiple hits.
