NORTON SHORES –The Mona Shores volleyball team hosted Whitehall, Jenison and Fremont for a quad match on Tuesday.

The Sailors played strong and went 2-1 on the night with wins against Fremont (25-10, 25-15) and Whitehall (25-13, 25-22). The loss came against Jenison in three sets (25-18, 19-25, 6-15).

Kyann Hellmann led the way with 47 assists, 16 digs, seven kills and three aces.

Jersey VanderWall had 19 kills and three blocks, while Ava Dunn had 14 kills and five blocks.

Izzy Sturtevant added 13 digs and four aces and Mallory Hogston had 13 digs and three aces.

Ali Trautner also contributed 10 kills and two blocks.

The Vikings finished 1-2 with a win against Fremont and losses to Mona Shores and Jenison.

Arianna Black had 19 kills and four aces, while Kayla Mulder and Bella Fogus added 15 kills and nine kills, respectively.

Sydney Shepherd amassed 59 assists and scored four aces. Caydence King also scored four aces and Chase Baker had 28 digs.

Mona Shores (10-3) opens conference play by hosting Holland on Thursday (Sept 8).

Whitehall will be at Oakridge on Tuesday (Sept. 6) for league play.

Fremont will be at Montague on Tuesday (Sept. 6).
