Barnhart leads Fremont to 4-2 record at its own volleyball tournament

FREMONT–The Lady Packers hosted the Fremont Varsity First Dig Volleyball Invitational on Friday. The Packers finished third out of seven teams with a 4-2 record.

Fremont was led offensively by Kendall Barnhart with 27 aces and 37 kills. Sage Vandenberg had 15 aces with 36 kills, Kenzie Gugins with 28 kills. Assist leaders included Lily VandenBerg with 57, Carle Bruggema with 33 and Marcy Tanner with 30.

Defensively, the Packers were led in digs by Avery Christoffersen with 33, Baylah Parker 25. Sage Vandenberg led all blockers with 8 followed by Taylor Waite and Mia Clemence with 4 each.

Carle Bruggema also broke the career ace record of 255 aces. She now has 262 for her career.

The Packers host another invitational on Saturday, August 27 at Fremont High School.
