GRAND RAPIDS – A young Fruitport Calvary Christian volleyball team struggled in the WMVOA Tournament at MSA Fieldhouse on Saturday.

The Eagles were swept with losses to Holland Black River (25-19, 19-25, 26-27), Kalamazoo Premier (18-25, 18-25, 25-19) and Zion Christian (23-25, 15-25).

Kamea Sutherland led the Eagles with 11 aces, eight digs and five kills, while Marissa Tyler had 46 assists, 10 aces and nine digs. Michayla Assaad had five aces.

Also for the Eagles, Ella Dykman added 32 kills and 15 digs and Sarah Deuby posted eight kills.

Fruitport Calvary Christian (0-3) hosts Osceola on Tuesday.
