FRUITPORT—The Grand Haven Buccaneers made it a clean sweep as they took top honors (Division 1) in both the boys and girls Eagle Invitational cross country meet on Tuesday.
The meet was at held Fruitport Calvary Christian.
Grand Haven ran away with the boys’ title as they placed six runners in the Top 10 to finish with a team score of 25.
They were followed by Mona Shores (84), Holland Christian (103), Fruitport (106), Whitehall (106), Reeths-Puffer (140), Grandville (163) and Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills (171).
Taking top honors was Nolan Clark, from Grand Haven,who finished with a time of 16:11.45.
Other top finishers included Seth Norder (Grand Haven), Caleb Branch (Mona Shores), Andre Richmond (Whitehall), Ben Held (Grand Haven), Carter McIlroy (Whitehall), Jaxon Allen (Reeths-Puffer), Logan Vining (Grand Haven), Carson Berko (Grand Haven) and Aron Gal (Grand Haven).
In girls’ action, the Buccaneers placed four runners in the Top 10 and finished with 33.
Following Grand Haven was Whitehall (70), Mona Shores (73), Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills (125), Fruitport (135), Holland Christian (140) and Reeths-Puffer (147).
Valerie Beeck of Grand Haven led all runners with a time 20:22.68.
She was followed by Ellery Horness (Mona Shores), Valerie Pollock (Fruitport), Cami Kraai (Whitehall), Addison Smith (Grand Haven), Cianah Budnik-Ramos (Grand Haven), Ariana Treat (Whitehall), Cecilia Conrad (Mona Shores, Erika Posthumus (Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills) and Payton Hosley (Grand Haven).
In the boys’ Division 2 race, Muskegon Catholic Central finished with 25 points while Ravenna came in second with a score 36.
Peyton Ruel of Muskegon Oakridge took top honors with a time of 17:40.97.
Other top ten finishers included Matthew Anton (Ravenna), Dylan VanKoevering (Ravenna), Jules Rousell (MCC),Q. Lorenz (MCC), Garrison Klinge (Oakridge), Jacob Lyonnais (MCC), David Utzinger (Oakridge), Eric Duboisquail (Fruitport Calvary Christian) and Jack Walkenhorst (MCC)
In the girls’ Division 2 race, there were not enough full teams to generate team scores.
Sixteen runners participated in the run which saw Merceydez Patton of Oakridge take top honors with a time of 23:13.20.
She was followed by Vanessa Peltoniemi (Holton), Ava Wilson (Fruitport Calvary Christian), Cara Morse (Oakridge), Aubrey Goyings (Holton), McKena Wilson (FCC), Autumn Morton (Ravenna), Kassidy Kleinheksel (MCC), Cally Camara (MCC) and Milla Hanks (Oakridge).
