Montague places second, Ludington third at Whitehall Golf Invitational

WHITEHALL—The Montague Wildcats came up six shots short at the Whitehall Golf Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at White Lake Golf Club.

The Wildcats finished runner-up to the Sparta Spartans, who took top team honors with a round of 375. Montague shot 381.

Other team scores included: Ludington (390), Whitehall (411), Fremont (430), Fruitport (436), North Muskegon (451), Allendale (462), Oakridge (469) and Holton (478).

Taking top individual honors was Ludington junior Emma McKinley with a 78.

Montague junior Mackenzie Goudreau finished second, shooting a round of 86. Teammate Natalie Kellogg, a senior, came in third with a 90.

Rounding out the top ten were Madison Cantu, Sparta (91); Mylee Mineni, Fruitport (92); Emalynn Benham, Sparta (92); Ava Garcia, Whitehall (92); Katelyn VanderWerff, Sparta (95); Sophia Sarto, Ludington (97) and Abriel Reister, Sparta (97).
