FREMONT –The Oakridge boys soccer team kicked off the West Michigan Conference season with a 6-1 win against Fremont on Wednesday evening.

The Eagles outshot the Packers 17-6.

Arturo Romero bagged all six goals for the Eagles and captured the school’s season scoring record with 28 goals.

Fremont’s Gonzalo Garcia netted the single goal off of an assist from Justin Guanga.

Goalkeeper Keegan Williamsen made 14 saves for the Eagles.

Caleb Vissia made five saves in the first half for the Packers, while Ben Mellema made six saves in the second half.

Oakridge (7-1-1, 1-0) will host Ravenna next Wednesday (Sept. 7th).

Fremont (2-4-1, 0-1) will also be at home on Wednesday to host Orchard View.
