LUDINGTON — Ludington’s girls volleyball team swept Oakridge in three sets Tuesday night 25-16, 25-9, 25-11 in a West Michigan Conference Lakes match at home.

“The girls put up some good blocks, and had some great kills tonight,” said Orioles head coach Liz Holden. “They are getting faster with their offense, and having fun with it.

“I’m really happy with how much more our setters are connecting. Our blockers are getting their timing down, which will prove to be important this weekend at Cadillac. We’re headed in the right direction.”

One of the pacesetters for the Orioles was Jordyn Anderson who finished with 18 assists, four kills, two blocks and one ace. Karli Mesyar had six service aces, 13 assists and two digs.

Maddy Vaara nailed 19 kills, had four blocks, five digs and one ace. Mia Pung drove the defense with 16 digs and had one ace. Keelyn Laird contributed nine kills, seven digs and two blocks. Ashley McPike had five kills and one block, while Olivia Lynn had two blocks.

Ludington competes in the Cadillac Invitational Saturday which starts at 8 a.m.
