MUSKEGON — Ludington swept Western Michigan Christian in three straight sets, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-21 in a non-conference girls volleyball match at Muskegon Thursday night.

“It took the girls a bit to get going tonight,” said Ludington coach Liz Holden. “WMC has some great middle hitters, and their setter runs a great offense, so we really had to adjust our blocking. It took some work, but they pulled it together and started getting some good blocks up, which gave us the momentum to push through for the win.”

Jordyn Anderson had a big night for the Orioles, leading the way statistically with 23 assists, eight blocks, eight kills, seven digs and one service ace.

Karli Mesyar also put up some solid numbers with 12 assists, six digs and two service aces.

Maddy Vaara contributed a team-high 16 kills while adding five digs, three blocks and two service aces.

Keelyn Laird stepped up big at the net with 11 kills and one block, and also added five digs and one assist.

Ashley McPike had five blocks, two kills and one dig. Olivia Lynn added two blocks and one dig, Mia Voss had three blocks, two kills and one service ace and Mia Pung had 11 digs and three assists.

The Orioles competes in a tournament at Shelby on Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m.

WMC hosts Fruitport Calvary Christian on Friday night.
