SHELBY — Carson Claeys and Alan Arreola each scored three goals, and Mason Garcia was one off a hat trick with two of his own as the Shelby boys soccer team crushed visiting Fremont, 9-1 in a West Michigan Conference game at home Monday night.

Miguel Guerra chipped in one goal for the Tigers.
 
Tee Ward scored the Packers’ only goal of the game.
 
Shelby led, 5-0 at the half. The Tigers finished the night with an 18-6 shots on goal advantage.
 
Ben Mellema made six saves in net for the Packers, and Caleb Vissia had the other two saves.
 
Israel Valzez was credited with five saves for the Tigers.
 
Shelby improved to 6-8 on the season overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Tigers next travel to Ravenna for a WMC game on Wednesday night.
 
Fremont dropped to 4-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the conference. The Packers are scheduled to host Hart on Wednesday.
