MUSKEGON — Justin Dirheimer has been carrying the rushing load for the Fremont Packers this season.

On Friday night, Dirheimer rushed 30 times for 172 yards and three touchdowns and led the Packers to a 38-16 victory over host Orchard View. Dirheimer scored on runs of 12, 9 and 6 yards.

Quarterback Talen Reichert-Slater completed 9-of-14 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. That touchdown pass was to Gabe Curtice and covered 20 yards.

Owen Hertel also topped the 100-yard mark in rushing for Fremont with three rushes for 115 yards. He scored on a 62-yard run.

The Fremont defense was led by Connor Pettis who had a team leading 8 tackles. He was followed by Michael Romero with 7.5 tackles.

Gabe VanVleet, Andrew Steger and Owen Vandenberg each chipped in with 5.5 tackles.

Fremont travels to Montague next Friday while Orchard View will host the Oakridge Eagles.
