FREMONT — Justin Dirheimer rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns on Thursday night and led the Fremont Packers to a 24-7 nonleague football victory over visiting Beaverton.

Fremont is now 2-0 on the season.

Dirheimer, a 1,000-yard rusher a year ago, was the workhorse back for the Packers with 27 carries. He scored on a 33-yard pass from quarterback Kyler DeKuiper then found the end zone on runs of 14 and 16 yards.

DeKuiper, a junior, finished with seven completions on 13 attempts for 109 yards and two touchdowns. His other touchdown pass went to Owen Hertel from 10 yards out.

Gabe Curtice was the leading receiver for Fremont with two catches for 38 yards.

Fremont had 319 yards of total offense.

Leading the way on defense for the Packers was Connor Pettis with 6 tackles.

Michael Romero and Asa Barnhard both had 4 tackles.  Michael and Daniel Romero both had an interception as well.  

The Packers host Ludington next Friday.
