LUDINGTON — Fremont, Whitehall and Ludington both finished 2-1 at the Ludington girls volleyball quad Thursday night. Ironically, the Vikings’ only loss was to the Orioles.

The Orioles defeated Whitehall 25-16, 25-18 and Big Rapids 25-16, 25-18 while they lost to Fremont in three sets 22-25, 25-20, 8-15.

Whitehall defeated Fremont 25-18, 25-23 and Big Rapids in three sets 25-22, 21-25, 15-5.

Leaders for the Orioles included Maddy Vaara with 20 kills, 7 aces, 11 digs and 1 block. Karli Mesyar had 11 assists, 6 digs and 1 kill.

Jordyn Anderson contributed 29 assists, 7 digs, 4 blocks and 6 kills. Mia Pung added 12 digs, 5 assists, 2 kills and 1 ace. Keelyn Laird had 12 kills, 5 aces, 5 digs, 1 assist and 3 blocks.

Ashley McPike followed with 11 blocks and 14 kills. Mia Voss added 1 ace, 1 dig, 3 blocks and 1 kill. Olivia Lynn had 1 dig, 1 assist, 3 blocks and 4 kills while Delaney Williams adde 2 digs.

For the Vikings their leaders were Kayla Mulder with 19 kills, followed by Caydence King with 18 kills, Bri Hemann with 17 kills and Bella Fogus and Ari Black with 15 kills each.

Sydney Shepherd added 90 assists, while Chase Baker had 24 digs with Fogus contributing 21 digs and Black 20 digs.

Black also had 5 service aces and King had 4 aces.

Fremont started the evening against Whitehall, losing 18-25, 22-25.  Then defeated Big Rapids 18-25, 25-15, 15-8. The last matchup of the evening for the Pack was with host Ludington.  Fremont battled diligently and defeated the Orioles in three sets, 25-23, 20-25, 25-8.  

Leaders on the evening for the Packers included Syd Moon with 6 Aces, Kendall Barnhart with 5, and Lily VandenBerg with 4.  Attack leaders included Sage Vandenberg with 20 kills, Carle Bruggema with 13 kills, and Barnhart with 12 kills.  Bruggema had 42 assists on the evening.

Defensively, the Packers had 98 digs led by Bruggema with 23, Avery Christoffersen and Barnhart each with 18.  Taylor Waite had 3 blocks while Vandenberg added 2 blocks.
