FRUITPORT–At 7pm tonight (Friday), the Fruitport Trojans will host Coopersville at Doc Pierce Field. It will be the first home game of the season for Fruitport with the new turf field finally installed and Trojan athletic director Jonny Morehouse couldn’t be happier.

“The new turf at Doc Pierce Field is amazing.  It is a wonderful consistent playing surface that can be used by multiple programs within our district and community.  We no longer have to worry about rainy muddy game days that damage the field for the remainder of the season,” said Morehouse on Friday afternoon.

“Our teams and band will be able to practice on the field and not have to worry about damaging the field for game days.  The field will be a multi-purpose field that is lined for football and soccer.

“Our soccer team still plans to play at Ken Erny Field, but it is nice to have this as a second option, if the soccer field goal boxes become unplayable.   The field turned out great and we are so excited to start using it this fall.
