Hellmann leads Mona Shores past Reeths-Puffer in three sets

MUSKEGON – The Mona Shores volleyball team had a good night against Reeths-Puffer on Thursday evening.

The Sailors notched an OK Conference-Green win in three straight sets (25-21, 25-13, 25-8).

Kyann Hellmann led for the Sailors with 30 assists, seven aces and five digs.

Ava Dunn made 11 kills, while Jersey VanderWall and Grace Allen had six kills apiece.

On defense, Izzy Sturtevant led with nine digs.

The Rockets’ Sophia Hekkema did her part with 10 kills, four digs and two aces.

Also, Megan Barnes and Madisyn Dykema threw in nine digs and eight kills respectively.

Mona Shores (16-6, 4-2) will close out conference play on Tuesday at Muskegon.

Reeths-Puffer (9-10-2) will also see more conference action on Tuesday as they travel to Holland.
