MONTAGUE — Two players scored a hat trick as the Ludington boys soccer team dominated Montague for an 8-0 shutout Wednesday night at Montague in the West Michigan Conference.

Ludington led, 4-0 at the half.

“We put Montague under a lot of pressure, and that pressure really turned into great scoring opportunities for us,” said Ludington head coach Kris Anderson.

“Also, we were moving the ball around very well, and found the open pass to maintain possession. It created a lot of dangerous opportunities tonight.

“My strikers were put in great positions where they could finish tonight. We really played well, from the back line to the front.”

Parker Wendt and Spencer Holmes each scored three goals for the Orioles, while Ryan Millspaugh put in a pair.

Steven Stidham contributed three assists. Wendt and Holmes each had an assist, with Nate Wagner, Ryan Kandalec and Ultan Ryan credited with one assist each.

Ludington had a whopping 24-1 advantage in shots on goal for the game.

The Orioles improved to 8-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference, and have a non-conference game with Grant at home Friday.

Montague will travel to Muskegon Catholic Central on Thursday, September 8th. Game time is slated for 5:30pm.
