SCOTTVILLE—It was a good day for the Ludington cross country teams on Thursday afternoon.

The girls won the Leanna Wolf Geers Invitational while the boys finished second.

The event was at Riverside Park in Scottville.

Ludington finished with a team score of 21 in the girls meet. They were followed by Manistee (59), Reed City (66) and Mason County Central (99).

In the girls meet, Ludington sophomore Summer Brower set the pace, finishing with top individual honors with a time of 20:09.85. Cecilia Postma of Manistee finished in second place while Nadia Grierson of Ludington came in third.

Other top ten finishers included: Christina Theis (Ludington), Nora Smoes (Reed City), Annie Kline (Ludington), Olivia Andersen (Ludington), Carolyn Bennett (North Muskegon), MacKenzie Keillor (Ludington) and Autumn Brower (Ludington).

Mason County Central’s top finisher was Adison Thorne (13th).

In the boys’ division, the Reed City Coyotes took top honors with 24.

They were followed by the Orioles (45), North Muskegon (71), Manistee (116) and Mason County Central (125).

Reed City sophomore August Rhode took top individual honors with a time of 17:06.15. He was followed by another Coyote runner, junior Anthony Kiaunis, while Ludington junior Jose Flores finished in third place.

Other top ten finishers included: Trey Keson (Ludington), Ty Kailing (Reed City), Ryan Allen (Reed City), Evan Atkinson-Miller (North Muskegon), Jude Meldrum-Roy (North Muskegon, David Reisterer (Ludington) and Aaron Allen (Reed City).

Mason County Central’s top finisher was Hunter Sanford (13th).
