LUDINGTON — Recording nine first-place finishes, including in two relay events, the Ludington girls swimming and diving team defeated Manistee, 124-51 at the Donald C. Baldwin pool Thursday night.

 
Reese Willis recorded two individual victories, in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle and was also part of the two winning relays (the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle).
 
Also picking up a pair of individual event wins for the Orioles was Cora Mahler in the 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle.
 
Madison Bearup won the 50-yard freestyle and swam on both winning relays, the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard medley relay.
 
Swimming legs on the 200-yard medley relay for the Orioles were Erika Hatch and Grace Higley. Kylie Sailor and Higley joined Bearup and Willis on the 200-yard freestyle relay team.
 
Other individual event winners for Ludington were Izzie Lundberg in diving and Ayiana Pamsang-Rangal in the 100-yard backstroke.
 
The Orioles recorded six season best and 13 lifetime bests.
 
Lauren Mezeske collected an individual event victory for the Chippewas in the 100-yard butterfly, Laura Eix in the 100-yard breaststroke.
 
Manistee also won the 200-yard freestyle relay with Mezeske, Eix, Macaela Bruce and Marina Reid.
 
Ludington is idle now until Thursday, Sept. 29 when the Orioles are scheduled to host Fremont at 6 p.m.
 
The Chippewas aren’t scheduled to swim again until Thursday, Oct. 6 against Fremont at the Paine Aquatic Center in Manistee at 6 p.m.
