CUSTER — Mason County Eastern was solid in every phase of the game and rode that performance to a three-set sweep of visiting Big Rapids Crossroads Academy Monday night.

MCE won 25-17, 25-21 and 25-13 at home in the Western Michigan D League.

“We played our game tonight,” said Cardinals coach Hilary Wright. “We controlled the ball, covering hitters and using tips when we needed to.”
 
Eastern’s leaders included Janessa Alvesteffer, who pounded down 10 service aces, had four tips, one kill and one dig. Deanna Codman contributed seven attacks with four kills, served up four aces, finished with two digs and one tip.
 
Taylor Campbell had four service aces, Avery Crawford added two aces and one dig, Caterina Tomba added two aces and two digs while Adriana Bosley had two aces, two digs and one attack.
 
Eastern returns to league play Thursday night at Brethren.
