BRETHREN — Mason County Eastern gave a good effort against Brethren in Thursday night’s Western Michigan D League girls volleyball match on the road, but the Cardinals lost to the Bobcats in three close sets, 19-25, 23-25 and 20-25.
Denna Codman paced the Cardinals offense with 15 attacks which resulted in two kills, had two digs on defense and served for one ace.
Avery Crawford finished the match with seven attacks and served for two aces.
Mackenzie Wright contributed five attacks with three tips and had four digs.
Janessa Alvesteffer served up two aces and had seven attacks. Caterina Tomba had two attacks and one ace, and Lilly Basden added one attack and one dig.
The Cardinals are scheduled to host Mesick in another WMD match on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
