WYOMING—The Mona Shores boys cross country team settled for the runner-up position on Wednesday afternoon at the OK Conference-Green Jamboree held at Wyoming. Meanwhile the Sailor girls came in 3rd place.
In the boys division, Zeeland West took top team honors with a score of 29 while the Sailors finished with 71 points and they were followed by Holland with 78 points.
Rounding out the team scoring were Reeths-Puffer (83), Zeeland East (96), Grand Rapids Union (180), Muskegon (212) and Wyoming (239).
Taking top individual honors in the boys division with a time of 14:44.43 was senior Caleb Branch of Mona Shores.
No other runners from the local area finished in the top ten.
Top finishers from Mona Shores included: Vaire Vanderwalle (13th), Will Parsekian (16th), and Aidan Kreps (20th).
Top finishers from Reeths-Puffer included: Tate Bradley (12th), Kye Grant (14th) and Jamie Neel (18th).
In the girls division, Zeeland East took top team honors with a score of 38. They were followed by Zeeland West (46), Mona Shores (64), Holland (100) and Reeths-Puffer (130).
Junior Allison Kuzma from Zeeland East took top individual honors with a time of 16:26.74.
Mona Shores had three runners finish in the top ten which included Cecilia Conrad (5th), Robyn Hunt (8th) and Ellery Horness (9th).
Top finishers for Reeths-Puffer included: Jersi Bilek (12th) and Eva Shinabery (34th).
