MUSKEGON–The Muskegon Catholic Central Crusaders battled back from a halftime deficit and defeated Schoolcraft 16-12 on Friday night.

The game was played at Kehren Stadium at Muskegon Catholic.

Schoolcraft built a 12-3 halftime lead before the Crusaders fought back with a touchdown in each of the last two quarters to earn a hard-fought victory.

In the third quarter, quarterback Bode Zugmuntowski connected with Braden Gustin for a 33-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 12-10. It was the only pass Zugnuntowski threw in the game.

In the fourth quarter, Bryan Convertini hit David Hill on a 5-yard touchdown pass to provide the Crusaders with the winning margin.

Hills rushed 11 times for 87 yards to lead the MCC ground attack. Convertini rushed 21 times for 79 yards and completed 4-of-9 passes for 53 yards.

Quinn McKenna had six tackles to lead the Crusader defense.

Muskegon Catholic hosts Muskegon Heights next Friday.
