SCOTTVILLE — The North Muskegon girls volleyball team defeated Mason County Central 3-1 in a West Michigan Conference match at Scottville on Tuesday night.

 
After splitting the first two sets, 25-15 and 20-25, the Norsemen swept the next two, 25-6 and 25-20.
 
Leaders for the Norsemen were senior Natalie Pannucci with 11 kills followed by junior Fia Lindsay and Allie Jensen with 10 apiece and senior Joslynne Bogner with six.
 
Junior Sami Baker finished with 29 assists, while Jensen served up nine aces, Pannucci contributed eight and sophomore Jolie Fellows with four.
 
Defensive leaders included Fellows with 20 digs, Pannucci 12, Jensen 11 and Baker eight.
 
Lindsay had two blocks while Addie Falkowski and Bogner had one apiece.
 
The Spartans big servers were Ashlyn McKay who was 12-of-13 with one ace and Wren Nelson finished 12-of-15 with one ace.
 
Primary setter Alayna Rafter had a big night, going 45-of-46 with nine assists. She was also 8-of-10 in serve receive, with 10-of-11 digs.
 
McKay did an outstanding job blocking at the net with 7-of-8 blocks.
 
Charlie Banks led the Spartans at the net with 15-of-15 attacks with five kills, Nelson finished 17-of-17 attacking with one kill and Tori Dunblazier was 26-of-29 in attacks with nine kills.
 
Aylin Davila was 8-of-10 serving, 7-of-8 in serve receive and 9-of-15 in digs.
 
The Norsemen improved their record to 10-6-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference. North Muskegon hosts Manistee on Thursday night.
 
Mason County Central slipped to 6-8 overall and 1-3 in the conference. The Spartans make the short bus drive to Ludington for a match with their cross-town rivals next Tuesday.
