NORTH MUSKEGON — The North Muskegon offense was clicking on Friday night.

The Norse opened a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and rolled to a 55-14 victory over Hart.

The West Michigan Conference-Rivers football game was played at North Muskegon.

The Norsemen had a total offense of 414 yards with 126 rushing and 288 passing. Hart finished with 144 yards of total offense on 57 passing and 87 rushing.
 
James Young completed 17-of-19 passing for 275 yards and two touchdowns and Bryce Colbert completed one pass for another score.
 
TJ Byard had three pass receptions for 85 yards and a score, while Ben Meyers also caught three passes for 53 yards. Carsen Moat made three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown, Kyle Huff had two receptions for 33 yards and Denny Belmonte had two for 33.
 
Belmonte carried the ball eight times for 31 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Norsemen. Tristan Thomas added 31 yards on three tries. Meyers had just one carry, but it went for 26 yards.
 
August Geradi had 26 yards on five attempts and scored a touchdown, while Young scored a rushing touchdown.
 
Defensive leaders were Alec Newville and Sam Gallo with seven tackles each. Gallo also had 3.5 tackles for loss. Drew Bartos had four tackles, two for loss. Kyle Huff had an interception.
 
North Muskegon (4-1, 3-0) travels to Montague on Friday, Sept. 30.
 
Hart fell to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the WMC-Rivers. The Pirates travel to Mason County Central on Friday, Sept. 30.
