PENTWATER — Pentwater’s girls volleyball team defeated Big Rapids Crossroads Academy in three quick sets (25-19, 25-14 and 25-18) in a Western Michigan D League match at home Thursday night.

Sophomore Addison Bringedahl had a big night at the service line with 12 points and four aces. She also added two kills and one dig.

Marissa Sayles put the Cougars back on their heels all night with her rocket serves, and was 98 percent accurate as well. She finished with eight points and seven aces and had one kill.

First-year player Mackenna Hasil is really stepping up, improving with each practice and competition, and had eight points, three aces and one kill.

Samantha Schaefer contributed seven points including three aces, two kills and seven digs.

Jocelyn Richison added four points with two aces, four kills and two digs.

Charlie Swanger chipped in with four points, nine assists, two digs and one kill.

Belle Powers scored one point and had one assist, and Lauren Davis had one point.

“They are starting to click as a team,” Pentwater head coach Kelly Pascavis said. “I see improvements daily.”

Pentwater competes in a tournament at Shelby on Saturday.
