GRAND HAVEN – This season’s struggles continue for the Grand Haven football team.

The Bucs dropped an OK Red matchup against Holland West Ottawa, 35-14, on Friday evening.

The action was close in the opening half and the Bucs trailed by just six points at 13-7. 

The Bucs couldn’t keep up in the second half and gave up three more scores.

Quarterback Xzavier Rodriguez completed 12-of-20 passes for 84 yards. Rodriguez rushed for one touchdown and finished with 64 yards on the ground.

Chase Robinson scored the Bucs’ other rushing touchdown and had five receptions for 43 yards.

The defense was led by Dean Mattson with five tackles. Rodriguez, Bode Wilson, Dylan Cummings and Elie Zikska added four tackles each.

Grand Haven (1-4, 0-4) will host Caledonia on Friday in league action.
