SHELBY — Shelby’s boys soccer team won its fifth straight game with a 2-0 shutout of visiting North Muskegon in the West Michigan Conference Monday night.

The game was scoreless until Carson Claeys received a pass from Mason Garcia and took it to North Muskegon’s penalty box, where he was fouled.
 
Mauricio Castillo scored the penalty kick, making the score 1-0 for Shelby.
 
Right after that, North Muskegon had a couple of chances to score, but Ismael Valdez stood out in net for the Tigers.
 
The second goal of the night came from an assist by Alan Arreola to Mason Garcia, who was able to finish a pass through the middle,  giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
 
Neither team scored in the second half, as Ismael continued his standout play to earn the shutout.
 
Shelby evened its regular-season record at 8-8, and moved to 5-2 in the conference. The Tigers travel to Orchard View for a conference game Wednesday night.
 
North Muskegon dropped to 5-9-3 overall and 3-3-2 in the WMC with its second straight loss. Wednesday night the Norsemen are back in action hosting Hart.
