Spring Lake comes from behind to beat Fruitport in five sets

SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake volleyball team notched their first OK Conference-Blue win against rival Fruitport on Tuesday evening.

The Lakers fell behind midway through but rallied back to win in five sets (25-19, 17-25, 20-25, 25-20, 15-13).

Kallie Lewkowski posted 20 kills, 16 digs and three blocks for the Lakers. Brooke Bolthouse added 29 digs and 11 kills.

Brooklyn Beeier and Rylee Sabo threw in 29 digs and 26 assists respectively.

Ella Gapczynski also contributed with three blocks and a pair of aces.

Fruitport’s Kayla Kolberg made 33 digs and three aces. Tara Sweet and Raegan Dykstra made 19 digs and 17 digs respectively.

Sadie Haase led the Trojan offense with 21 kills, while Gracelynn Olson had 27 assists and 12 kills.

Spring Lake (17-7-3, 1-3) will compete in a quad match at Montague on Saturday.
