WHITEHALL — Whitehall’s girls volleyball team climbed a little closer to the .500 mark for the season with a three-set sweep of visiting Manistee in the West Michigan Conference at home Tuesday night.

 
The Vikings held the Chippewas to 35 points on the night. Whitehall won the first set, 25-11, and then won the next two by identical 25-12 scores.
 
Bella Fogus paced the Vikings with 11 kills while Arianna Black contributed eight.
 
Sydney Shepherd stepped up big with 39 assists. Black also served for 10 aces and Kayla Mulder six.
 
Chase Baker led the defense with 14 digs and Black had nine.
 
The Vikings improved their record to 10-13-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference, and are at home Thursday night for a West Michigan Conference match with the Shelby Tigers.
 
Manistee (1-7) travels to North Muskegon on Thursday night.
