CADILLAC – The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team battled in the Cadillac Invitational on Saturday.

The Warriors faced some tough competition in close sets but finished the day 1-4.

WMC found their solo win in a competitive match against Saginaw Valley Lutheran (25-20, 25-21).

The losses came from Grand Blanc (9-25, 21-25), Shelby (26-28, 19-25), McBain (19-25, 11-25) and Montague (21-25, 25-20, 12-15).

Ashley Folkema had 33 kills with three blocks on the day. Abby Leffring added 25 kills and four blocks.

Kendal Young threw in 84 assists and five kills, while Nora Anderson and Ella Hawke had 13 kills and seven kills respectively.

Western Michigan Christian will be back to action on Friday when they host Grand Rapids Covenant Christian.
