The Sailors cruised past Zeeland East on Friday with a 42-7 win, remaining undefeated in the OK Green.
Mona Shores wasted no time as Ke’waun Farnum gave the Sailors a 7-0 lead by turning a short bubble pass from quarterback Jonathan Pittman into a 42-yard strike. The play came on just the second snap of the game.
After shutting down the Chix’ first possession, Mona Shores took a 14-0 lead on a 4-yard scamper from Dahmir Farnum. Ke’waun Farnum set up the score on a 22-yard run that helped cap off the seven-play drive.
The Sailors continued to build their momentum with a strong defensive effort, shutting down a long Zeeland East drive that went 11 plays through the end of the first quarter and into the second.
Mona Shores took a 21-0 lead on a 3-yard run by Pittman. Dahmir Farnum instigated the score with a 22-yard carry and Pittman followed up with a 15-yard run to set up the score.
Mona Shores’ defense battled through another long drive by the Chix in the second quarter, but Dahmir Farnum came through with a huge sack to halt Zeeland East in the red zone.
Jaylen Vinton gave the Sailors a 28-0 lead before the half, connecting on an 8-yard pass from Pittman just before time expired. Dahmir Farnum helped set up the score for Mona Shores, rattling off a 40-yard run in the drive.
Zeeland East opened the second half with a scoring drive on its first possession, but the Sailors responded on their next drive to take a 35-7 lead.

Mona Shores’ final score came on a 4-yard run by Pittman. Vinton led the drive by hauling in a deep 37-yard pass from Pittman.
Senior Dahmir Farnum led the rushing attack for Mona Shores with 118 yards on 13 carries and three touchdowns.
Pittman completed 10-of-11 passes for 195 yards. He threw for two touchdowns and rushed for one.
The Sailors (6-1, 5-0) remain atop the OK Green. Mona Shores travels to rival Reeths-Puffer for a Week 8 matchup.
