ROCKFORD – The No. 22 ranked Grand Haven volleyball team lost a tight match to No. 14 ranked Rockford in OK Conference-Red play on Tuesday evening.
The Bucs battled hard but fell short in four sets (25-22, 14-25, 23-25, 25-27).
“We competed tonight, we played hard, we played together,” said Coach Aaron Smaka. “I am proud of our effort tonight and it was a big step in the right direction for our team.”
Kam Burbridge led the way with 11 kills and five blocks, while Izzy Whittaker added 10 kills.
Taylor Smaka produced on defense with 25 digs.
Grand Haven will be at home on Thursday against West Ottawa.
