Hart boys, Ludington girls win Hart & Sole Invitational

HART–The Hart boys and Ludington girls cross country teams won the Hart & Sole Invitational on Saturday morning in an event that was held in Hart at Colonial Golf Course on a chilly day.

In the boys division Hart placed four runners in the top ten and finished with 28 points. Ludington placed three runners in the top ten and finished in second place with a team score of 71 while Mason County Eastern finished in third place with a team score of 73 points.

Other team scores included Pentwater (99), Bear Lake-Onekama (131) and McBain (133).

Hart senior Clayton Ackley took top individual honors with a time of 16:37.1. Mason County Eastern senior Nathan Wing finished in second place with a time of 16:44.2 and Hart senior Wyatt Dean came in third place with a time of 16:53.2.

Other top ten runners included Seth Ackley (Hart/4th), Jose Flores (Ludington/5th), Trey Keson (Ludington/6th), Mason Sinke (Bear Lake-Onekama/7th), Max Stitt (hart/8th), Abe VanDuinen (Pentwater/9th) and David Reisterer (Ludington/10th).

In the girls division the Ludington Orioles placed four runners in the top ten and finished in first place by one point over the Hart Pirates 32-33. Hart placed three runners in the top ten. The Mason County Eastern Cardinals placed two runners in the top ten and finished in third place with 78 points. McBain finished in fourth place with 112 points while Bear Lake-Onekama came in fifth place with 122 points.

Hart sophomore Jessica Jazwinski the No. 1 rated runner in Division 3 took top individual honors with a time of 17:37.30. She was followed by her junior teammate Alyson Enns who finished with a time of 19:00.62. Ludington sophomore Summer Brower finished in third place with a time of 20:17.7.

Other top ten runners included Christina Theis (Ludington/4th), Nadia Grierson (Ludington/5th), Lucy Shoup (MCE/6th), Emma Soelberg (Shelby/7th), Lexie Beth Nienhuis (Hart/8th), Lauren Niedzielski (MCE/9th) and Autumn Brower (Ludington/10th).

The top runner for Pentwater was Anna VanDuinen who came in 24th place.
