KENT CITY–The Kent City Eagles boys and girls cross country teams won the Angry Eagle Invitational on Saturday in an event held at Kent City high school.

In the boys division Kent City placed five runners in the top ten and finished with 16 points.

Kent City junior Samuel Martini took top individual honors with a time of 16:25.82. Grant junior Brodie Delamater came in second place with a time of 17:17.66 and Kent City junior Jaren Vogel finished in third place with a time of of 17:23.44.

Other local top runners included Leto Pendleton (Kent City/5th), Brandon McCullough (Kent City/7th) and Hatcher Linsley (Kent City/10th). The top runner for Fruitport Calvary Christian was Eric Duboisquail who finished in 25th place.

In the girls division Kent City had four runners finish in the top ten spots to finish with 23 team points.

Kent City sophomore Lila Volkers took top individual honors with a time of 19:42.84. Her junior teammate Gracie Houtman came in second place with a time of 21:20.64.

Other local top runners included Ava Wilson (Fruitport Calvary Christian/4th), McKena Wilson (Fruitport Calvary Christian/6th), Alisha Esquivel (Kent City/7th) and Lydia Howard (Kent City/8th).
