KENT CITY–The Kent City Eagles grabbed a huge lead after one quarter and never looked back onĀ  Friday night.

The Eagles scored 24 first-quarter points on their way to a 52-14 victory over Grant.

The Eagles’ potent rushing attack was led by Kyler Larson with six carries for 78 yards and a touchdown. Mason Westbrook contributed with eight carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. Caden Hartzell had six carries for 61 yards and a touchdown. Joe VanOffelen ran in a 19-yard touchdown.

Webb Longcore anchored the defense with 5 tackles and a sack. Larson added three tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown. VanOffelen had three tackles and two sacks.

Kent City improves to 7-2 on the season and is looking forward to a playoff berth.

Grant finished 1-8 overall, 1-5 in the league.
