SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central’s girls volleyball team turned back Mason County Eastern 3-0 in a non-conference match.

Thursday’s home match also was Parents and Seniors Night.

The Spartans took command from the start and rolled to a convincing victory 25-9, 25-12 and 25-9.

“Our seniors did a great job leading the team tonight,” said Spartans coach Erin O’Harra. “I’m proud of these ladies that made our Spartan Country proud tonight.”

Charlie Banks was near perfect at the service line on 12-of-14 serves with two aces. She also was 4-of-4 on serve receive, 5-of-6 in digs, 6-of-6 in attacks with four kills and 1-of-1 on sets. Maxie Green, another senior leader, finished a perfect 12-of-12 serving with three aces, 1-of-1 in serve receive, 7-of-9 in digs and 1-of-2 in attacks.

The Spartans main server, Aylin Davila, was 13-of-13 serving with two aces.

Tori Dunblazier led the Spartans in attacks with 15-of-18 attacks with 10 kills. Alayna Rafter was 10-of-12 serving, 3-of-3 in digs, 6-of-7 attacking with one kill, 38-of-59 in assists with 16 assists. Mikaylah McVicker finished 1-of-1 serving, 2-of-2 in serve receive, 2-of-3 in digs and 4-of-4 in attacks. Ashlyn McKay was 8-of-10 serving with two aces, 4-of-4 in serve receive, 5-of-6 in digs and 6-of-6 attacking with four kills. Riley Mast contributed 6-of-8 attacks with one kill.

Deanna Codman paced the Cardinals with eight attacks, five digs and one kill. Mackenzie Wright had three attacks, four digs and one ace. Taylor Campbell had two attacks and one dig. Lilly Basden had three attacks and two digs. Janessa Alvesteffer had two attacks, two kills, one dig and one tip.

Avery Crawford had two attacks, five digs and one tip. Caterina Tomba had two digs.

Mason County Central travels to Holton for a West Michigan Conference-Rivers match next Tuesday.

The Cardinals host Hart in a non-conference contest next Thursday.
