MONTAGUE — Montague drew closer to the .500 mark for the season, and lifted its West Michigan Conference-Lakes record to 4-1 with a 3-0 sweep of visiting Manistee at home Tuesday night.

The Wildcats had a fairly easy time against the Chippewas, winning each of the three sets by more than 10 points, 25-13, 25-11 and 25-14.

Maizie Collins served at 100 percent on the night. Alissa Wynn was next at 95.5 percent, followed by Jacy Arrigotti at 92.3 percent and Jordan Netcott at 90.9 percent.

Wynn produced 15 points with nine aces at the service line, with Arrigotti scoring 10 with five aces and Netcott finished with eight points and four aces. Collins contributed four aces.

Anastasia Trevino led the Wildcats at the net with 11 kills, while Ava Pumford, Britta Johnson and Laura Borras had five apiece.

Jaelyn Sundberg had 35 assists. Wynn paced the defense with eight digs, Johnson had five and Borras four.

Montague improved its record to 15-16 overall on the season, and will compete in the Jenison Invitational tournament on Saturday.

The Chippewas don’t play again until next Saturday, Oct. 15 at the McBain Invitational.
