FREMONT – The Whitehall and Montague varsity volleyball teams took part in the West Michigan Conference-Lakes Tournament on Saturday.

The Vikings had a solid day with a second-place finish.

Wins came against Orchard View and Montague (25-22, 26-24). The single loss came at the hands of Ludington in the finals (11-25, 23-25).

Kayla Mulder made 22 kills and 17 digs, while Arianna Black added 19 digs, 15 kills and five blocks.

Chase Baker had 42 digs with 10 aces and Sydney Shepherd scored five aces.

The Wildcats finished just behind Whitehall in third place.

Montague bagged wins against Oakridge (25-16, 26-24), Fremont (25-18, 25-18) and Manistee (25-7, 25-8). The Wildcats dropped a tight match against Whitehall.

Laura Borras made 25 kills, 19 digs and three aces, while Anastasia Trevino had 29 kills and three blocks.

Alissa Wynn contributed 32 digs with 13 aces and Jack Arrigotti chipped in 20 digs and three aces.

Also, Jaelyn Sundberg set up 80 assists and made 19 digs.

Whitehall (16-18-5, 6-3) will host North Muskegon on Thursday in a quad match.

Montague (21-23-1, 8-2) is set to be at home on Wednesday against NorthPointe Christian.
