BIG RAPIDS–The Ferris State University women’s basketball team cruised past Grace Christian University (Grand Rapids) on Saturday evening, 104-45.
The Bulldogs dominated from start to finish.
Ferris State jumped out to a 28-6 lead after the first ten minutes of play and led 56-20 at the halftime break.
The Bulldogs held the upper hand 21-11 in the third quarter and 27-14 in the final ten minutes of play.
Former Muskegon Big Reds standout Deshonna Day hit for double digits with 15 points. She was perfect from the field going 7-of-7 and hit her only free throw. For the season, the junior forward is averaging 11.6 points per game while grabbing 2.4 rebounds per game and dishing out 2 assists per game.
Former Kent City star Kenzie Bowers played 16 minutes and scored 2 points on Saturday evening. The sophomore guard is averaging 10.8 points per game while grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 2.8 assists per game.
The Bulldogs remain perfect this season with a 5-0 overall record.
Ferris State will be back in action on Thursday evening, Dec. 1 when they host Grand Valley State University at Jim Wink Arena. Game time is set for a 5:30 p.m.
